Emberfall Saga: building a party that doesn't fall apart

Everyone hits the same wall in Emberfall Saga around the third region, and it's almost always a party problem, not a level problem. I threw myself at that difficulty spike for a while before I stopped grinding and started thinking about who was standing where.

The single biggest fix was giving my healer someone to hide behind. Positioning is half the fight — enemies target the closest reachable ally, so a bulky front line quietly keeps your squishier members alive without spending a turn on defense.

For classes, I'd say don't sleep on the debuff-heavy Warden. It looks weak on paper, but stacking slows and armor breaks turned long boss fights into short ones. Pair it with a burst damage dealer and you clear encounters two turns faster.

Respec is cheap in this game, so use it. I rebuilt my whole party twice and the game never punished me for experimenting. Try a setup, take it into one hard fight, and adjust from there.

If you're stuck, the answer is usually a composition change, not another hour of farming. Emberfall Saga rewards planning over patience, which is exactly why it's stuck with me.
